Day 70 Weekly Weigh In...

Well after all of my lamenting, moaning & griping, I got on the scale this morning to 268.  So basically I'm up 2 lbs from my last weigh in.  Yuck, but not as bad as it could have been.  My weight has yo-yo'd this whole week (thanks to my erratic eating habits), but I am getting back on track.  I did pretty good yesterday if you don't count those FOUR Krispy Kreme donuts.  Hey, the hot sign was on!!  But really I didn't eat that much yesterday since I was at the ball field all day with my sister & nephew, so that's why the donuts didn't make a huge impact, thank God.  I started out the day with my usual egg tostada's & for lunch I had one ballfield hamburger, then the KK's & for dinner I made some kind of cheesy pasta thing, so all in all it wasn't too terribly bad, but I didn't track which is a problem.  I find that when I'm tracking my food I do SO much better.  Then yesterday when I got home I got on FB & several of my friends had posted either about their weight loss or about exercising so I felt like God was trying to tell me "Look, they're doing it & so can you!".  So, I'm getting back on track & I'm feeling better about where I am now, as opposed to where I was a week ago.  We'll see next week what the scale says about this.  I'm going to go make me some water now :)

  1. Hi Candi! Have a serious talk with yourself about junk food. I read a previous post of yours that suggest that your mother raised you on restaurant food. But restaurant food is junk food. Your dear mother, no matter how wonderful she is, was wrong. You should not eat restaurant food or a helping of junk food more than 1 day per week.

I used to eat just like you do, probably when I was your age, so I do understand what you're saying. I had to completely overhaul my way of eating. It is still a struggle on certain days. :D

    1. Hi Marion, thanks for your response but obviously you didn't read my previous post about eating out. That's ok, I know what you're saying & believe me I KNOW that restaurant food is horrible for me but eating out is one of my triggers & I just need to learn to get a hold of that. Thank you for the advice though :)

  2. Those who are not from the south won't understand just how tempting the hot now sign is :) Hang in there; I've been struggling as well but feeling like I'm getting back on track. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) the closest hot now sign for me is 45 minutes away.

    1. Well really the closest one to me is about an hour away so it's a RARE treat (thank God), but we just happened to be in that town for the ballgame & well...the hot sign was on!! :)

  3. How about trying to make it a contest with yourself? Say, no matter what, "I dare myself to eat half of what I normally would at this restaurant." 2 Krispy Kreme donuts would've been a huge improvement over 4. etc. You can do this! But if you can't (yet) handle portion control, you are going to have to train yourself to totally abstain. I PROMISE the cravings go away when you abstain!

  4. Guuuuurl! I can't eat donuts. No way, no how! Remember the Lays Potato Chip commercial that said, "You can't eat just one?" Yea - that's me with a good ole glazed donut. So, I don't eat 'em. Same thing with a real Coke. I'm addicted. One Coke leads to another and to another, so it's best to just steer clear.

I really do look at some foods as if I have an addiction. If it were any other substance, I could put it down and not touch it again. Sadly we NEED food to sustain life, therefore, it's a daily struggle with the right choices and portion control.

    1. Luckily the closest "hot" sign is an hour away so I very rarely get these. I'm pretty sure I have those trigger foods that I should stay away from. That's probably something I should be more aware of, what causes those binges. Good for you for knowing what causes them & from staying away!!

  5. Everyone has off days or even weeks the important thing is you jump back on the wagon. I have a major sweet tooth so I know how hard it is to resist! But you have done so good and I'm so proud of you!
